Statement from Gelek Rimpoche, April 15th

I am aware that a group of Chinese Students have applied for permission from the University to stage a demonstration during this weekend's teaching at Crisler Arena. We support all non-violent expression of free speech and expect anyone attending the teaching to respect that right of expression without confrontation. We do not anticipate these demonstrations to interfere with any of our programs.

Security at Crisler Arena

The audience is not allowed to bring items to Crisler Arena. All persons entering Crisler Arena are subject to search. Please see the following list of prohibited items. We appreciate your cooperation with these security measures.

Based on requests from His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s staff as well as state department security concerns we ask that you refrain from entering with bags, cell phones, cameras and umbrellas.  These items will  not be permitted in the arena.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Prohibited Items:

• Purses, fanny packs, and bags
• Cameras
• Cell phones
• Containers of any kind
• Aerosol and spray cans
• Umbrellas and seat backs
• Flags and flag poles
• Signs, banners, balloons, balls, and inflatable items
• Alcoholic beverages
• Coolers, thermoses, cups, bottles, cans, flasks
• Food of any kind
• Camera tripods
• Strollers
• Weapons

Parking at Crisler Arena

PARKING is available at Crisler Arena, Pioneer High School, and nearby residential streets. Pioneer High School is diagonally across from Crisler Arena and will be $5 per car for each time entering the lot.
